Tenmars TM-802 Formaldehyde Meter

In building materials and numerous household products, formaldehyde is a chemical commonly used. Formaldehyde vaporizes in the air at room temperature, potentially causing serious health problems. The chemical is also produced in combustion processes.

Tenmars TM-802 Formaldehyde Meter measures formaldehyde density, temperature, and humidity simultaneously. This can be used to monitor occupational safety in TWA (8 hours) and STEL (15 minutes). A high-precision electrochemical sensor is used for measuring formaldehyde.

Formaldehyde is an organic chemical that is very prevalent in our environment. It has colourless gas with a pungent odour from a family of gases called aldehydes. Commonly known as a preservative in medical laboratories and mortuaries, formaldehyde is also found in other products such as chemicals, particle board, household products, glues, permanent press fabrics, paper product coatings, fibreboard and plywood. It is also widely used as an industrial fungicide, germicide, and disinfectant.
It is a sensitising agent that can cause an immune system response upon initial exposure. Airborne concentrations of formaldehyde above 0.1ppm can cause irritation of the respiratory tract. Most people don’t have any health problems from small amounts of formaldehyde in their homes or office. As levels increase, some people have breathing problems or irritation of the eyes, nose, throat, or skin from formaldehyde exposure.
