How to use REED IR Video Thermometer & Data Logger (model R2020)

When you will turn on your R2020 infrared thermometer, a short beep will indicate that the meter has been turned on. The main menu screen shows six function to choose from. Navigate trough these using the up and down button. Press enter button to select the desired function.

Using the IR Camera
Using the IR Camera you can measures IR temperature, dewpoint temperature, and wet bulb temperature or relative humidity while the video camera is on. To access the IR-CAM function, in the main menu highlight and select IR CAM. Take measurements by pressing the trigger button. This mode can also take pictures and videos.

Taking pictures
While you are into the IR Camera mode, you can save pictures of the current readings by pressing the Picture button. Using the Up or Down buttons you can save or delete the pictures.

Taking videos
When in IR Camera mode, press the Video button to enter Video Mode. To begin recording press the Video button again. The meter will record video while taking a continuous reading. Press the Video button to stop recording. Press the ESC button to exit Video Mode.

IR Measurements with Reed R2020 IR Camera
Navigate into R202’s main menu and select the IR Measure function. Using this, you can quickly measures IR temperature, air temperature, relative humidity, dewpoint temperature, and wet bulb temperature with fast results. Start taking the measurements by pressing and holding the trigger.

Dewpoint Measurement
Start using the R2020’s Dewpoint function by selecting it from the main menu of your IR camera. The bottom gradient bar displays the current temperature/dewpoint ratio percentage. Press and hold the trigger to take a measurement.

Datalogging and Saving the data
With your Professional Infrared Video Thermometer turned on, while you are into the main menu screen, navigate through the functions and select DATALOG. Start adjusting the parameters with the Up and Down buttons. Press ENTER to adjust each parameters individually. For example, you can adjust the temperature by small increments by pressing the up and down buttons and by large increments y pressing and holding the Up or Down buttons. When you have finished just press the trigger to begin datalogging. In this mode, your R2020 will continuously record the measurements value. To save and exit Datalog mode press the ESC button. When you have finished your measurements, in the main menu of the IR thermometer, highlight and select DATA MEMORY to enter the Saved Data menu. Highlight and select Picture, Video, or Logs to view the saved data.
