The FEV300 Test Adapter Kit with Type 2 Connector is an essential tool for testing the function and safety of Mode 3 AC charging stations. It allows technicians to conduct tests in accordance with IEC/EN 61851-1 and IEC/HD 60364-7-722 using installation testers, like Fluke 1664 FC and ScopeMeter® from the Fluke 120B Series. This all-in-one adapter simplifies the process of connecting and testing charging stations, as it imitates an electric vehicle thus eliminating the need to bring an EV onsite.
When connected to a Type 2 socket outlet or vehicle connector, it enables technicians to perform ground fault checks, insulation of wires, measuring voltage and duty cycle – all necessary steps that help evaluate max current available for charging. The FEV300 also comes with three LED lamps which indicate separate phases; this makes it easier to check if voltage is present while conducting tests.
