The rugged, full-size Extech MA1500 1500 amp AC/DC CAT IV clamp meter is designed to deliver safety and versatility without compromising on amp ratings. You can take the MA1500 on the job to leverage its advanced meter functions, including True RMS AC current and voltage, DC current and voltage, resistance, capacitance, frequency, contact temperature, diode-test, and continuity check. And use Relative mode for capacitance zero and offset adjustment.

True RMS & NCV Detector

It can be very difficult to make accurate current and voltage readings in industrial and commercial applications when electronic devices are present. Fluorescent lights, motor drives, computer power supplies, and other electronic systems can distort the AC waveform, making it hard for averaging meters to get an accurate read. True RMS uses a more advanced formula to adjust for this kind of distortion. One important safety tool that is built in to the MA1500 is a non-contact voltage (NCV) detector. The detector quickly identifies the presence of voltage on live wires and alerts the user with a red LED indicator. For you, this eliminates the need for a separate tester, offering you more value, added safety, and less tool bag clutter. The MA1500 amp clamp has a CAT IV-600-volt overvoltage safety rating.

Other Features

The bright 5-digit, 40,000/4,000 count backlit display is complemented by several one-button functions including data hold, min/max, and two current ranges: 400 amp and 1500 amp. In addition, the jumbo 2-inch (52mm) jaw opening handles conductors up to 500 MCM. Besides electrical and electronic testing, you can capture temperature measurements using the Type K wire probe.
