Extech TB400 Portable Turbidity Meter comes complete with all the accessories to conveniently test the turbidity of municipal water, food and beverage water, and other aqueous solutions where ﬂuid clarity is important. Portable design allows you to take measurement on-site instead of bringing solution back to the lab. Measures up to 1000 NTU (Nephelometric Turbidity Unit) with 0.01 NTU resolution.

Extech TB400 Portable Turbidity Meter

Turbidity is the cloudiness or haziness of a fluid caused by large numbers of individual particles that are generally invisible to the naked eye (similar to smoke in air) and the measurement of turbidity is a key test of water quality.

In drinking water, the higher the turbidity level, the higher the risk that people may develop gastrointestinal diseases. This is especially problematic for immunocompromised people, because contaminants like viruses or bacteria can become attached to the suspended solids.
